
Carrie-Anne Moss was born August 21, 1967 [1] and is a Canadian actress. She rose to fame for her role in the role of Trinity in The Matrix (1999-present) after doing a handful of parts on television. Memento (2000) earned her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Supporting Role, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000) and Fido (2006). Snow Cake (2006) earned her the Genie Award as Best Performance by an Actress in an Supporting Character. Moss also played Jeri Hogarth in a variety of TV shows produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, including Jessica Jones (2015-2019). While in Spain, Moss obtained a role as Tara, the clerk to Judge Nicholas Marshall in the drama series Dark Justice, her first television appearance. In 1992, she moved with the series from Barcelona to Los Angeles. Moss was forced to quit Dark Justice after the third season as well as the last. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". Following her return to the US, she was enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. She was a model and appeared in Models Inc., a Fox primetime soap opera. In July 1995, the series was removed from the air. Matrix the made-in Canada series in which she was the headliner of the show, was cancelled in July 1995. The majority of the 1990s, she was a part of in numerous television shows like Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she was nominated for the Gemini Award for Best Guest Actress in drama. Most of her film roles in the decade were B films, such as Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (1994), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) as well as The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
